I am pleased to announce the publication of my research, Scofield’s Theology: Bibliology, now available through Zenodo.

This study examines C. I. Scofield’s teaching concerning biblical inspiration, preservation, textual criticism, and the Authorized Version. Its central concern is a straightforward but important one: What did Scofield actually write and teach about the Bible?

Discussions of Scofield’s theology have often been shaped by later theological controversies and by assumptions about the positions he held. In this study, I have sought to return to Scofield’s own published writings and examine his statements in their historical and theological contexts.

The purpose is neither to defend Scofield uncritically nor to prosecute him on the basis of later disputes. Rather, the goal is to distinguish what the primary sources establish from what may be inferred, disputed, or attributed to him by others.

I hope this work will be useful to pastors, students of Scripture, researchers, and others interested in Scofield’s theology and the history of evangelical bibliology.

This blog reflects over four decades of personal Bible study, ministry, and theological reflection. Like many pastors and scholars, I use tools such as Logos Bible Software, lexicons, commentaries, and, more recently, AI — to assist with organization, research, and clarity. These tools serve study — they do not replace it. Every post is shaped by my convictions, oversight, and a desire to rightly divide the Word of truth.
