My name is Brent Madaris. I have been saved and preaching since 1982, and I have been pastoring since the year 2000. Over the course of more than two decades in pastoral ministry, I have served three churches—each one a church in need of revitalization.

Those years have taught me much about what helps churches move forward—and what quietly hinders them. I am still learning, still growing, and still convinced that genuine revitalization does not begin with programs or personalities, but with hearts God has touched for His work.

I hold a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from Pensacola Theological Seminary, where my studies focused on church revitalization. My doctoral research examined the characteristics that contributed to the survival and revitalization of two Independent Baptist churches through a multiple case study approach. That research informs my work, but it does not replace dependence upon the Lord—who alone gives life to His churches.

Hometown Hope exists to encourage and support churches and pastors engaged in the demanding, often lonely work of revitalization. The ministry is built around three core initiatives:

1. Practical Applications
   Resources and supports designed to assist pastors actively engaged in revitalization.

2. Biblical and Academic Preparation
   Training that helps reorient a pastor’s mindset and skill set for the spiritual and cultural challenges facing churches today.

3. Revitalization Literature
   Developing resources specifically written for Independent Baptist churches and pastors.
