Every year, Hollywood gathers to celebrate itself, and every year, it seems to drift further from truth, virtue, and morality. What once was an industry that could tell powerful, inspiring stories has turned into a platform for pushing anti-Christian values and mocking everything good and decent. This has been the case for years.
Take a look at the messages coming from modern entertainment. Families are portrayed as broken, with foolish parents and children who act as the wisest ones in the room. Patriotism is dismissed as outdated, and America’s military heroes are painted as corrupt villains. If you are pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, or a Bible-believing Christian, Hollywood labels you as hateful and extreme. Meanwhile, those who embrace immorality, rebellion, and sin are celebrated as bold and brave.
The Bible warns against such thinking. Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness.” We live in a time when truth is not only rejected but reversed. What God calls sin, our culture praises. What God calls righteousness, our culture ridicules.
But this is not just about Hollywood. Americans at all levels have drunk deeply from the poisoned cistern of entertainment and cultural decay. The decline of biblical values has spread across all of American society. A recent vote in the U.S. Senate showed that every single Democrat opposed a measure that would prevent biological men from competing in women’s sports. That means every one of them stood against God’s design for male and female (Genesis 1:27) and against fairness and common sense. Unbelievable, right? Well, maybe not—because it is true, and sadly, it no longer surprises us.
For too long, our nation has sown to the flesh, glorifying sin, rebellion, and self-indulgence. Galatians 6:7-8 says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” We are now reaping the consequences of turning away from God. We see families falling apart, a generation confused about truth, and a society filled with despair and division.
The answer is not found in more debates, political strategies, or cultural critiques. It is repentance and a return to Jesus Christ. Morality, truth, integrity, and righteousness are not abstract ideas. The essence and expression of these realities are found in Him alone. As Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
If we want to see America change, we must first change our own hearts. The church must rise up, not with anger and outrage, but with boldness and unwavering commitment to God’s truth. We must repent of our own waywardness and backsliding. We must preach the gospel, live holy lives, and be a light in the darkness. We must reject the lies of culture and hold fast to God’s unchanging Word.
Hollywood does not need another award show. America does not need more godless entertainment. What we need is a spiritual awakening. Proverbs 14:34 reminds us, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Our nation must turn back to God before it is too late.
The choice is clear. We can continue down the path of moral decay, reaping the destruction we have sown. Or we can humble ourselves, repent, and seek God’s face. He is willing to forgive, to restore, and to heal our land. But we must turn to Him while there is still time.
America does not need more awards—it needs an awakening.
